Concord, NH - Late yesterday morning, this week’s “Fugitive of the Week," David Campbell, 34, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals - NH Joint Fugitive Task Force in Nashua, NH. Campbell was being sought on an outstanding arrest warrant on a recent federal indictment for possession with intent to distribute controlled drugs, fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Mr. Campbell was just featured yesterday as the “Fugitive of the Week." This feature was aired on WTPL-FM, WMUR-TV, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster’s Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, the Rochester Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The “Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the “Fugitive of the Week" is distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers.
The U.S. Marshals were happy to receive tips that pointed to a couple of possible locations for Campbell. One of these tips pointed to an apartment on West Hollis Street in Nashua, NH. Several members of the US Marshals - NH Joint Fugitive Task Force went to this apartment at around 10:00 AM in an attempt to arrest Mr. Campbell. After loudly knocking and announcing “Police - U.S. Marshal" at the door for a couple of minutes without response, the decision to forcefully enter the apartment was made. Inside, Campbell was located on the couch which was only four feet in front of the door which was forced open. Mr. Campbell was arrested without further incident.
Campbell was transported to the Strafford County Jail for holding pending his initial court appearance at a later time today at the U.S. District Court in Concord, NH.
This arrest was made by several members of the NH Joint Fugitive Task Force, including members from the Rockingham & Strafford County Sheriff’s Offices, the Greenfield Police Department and several deputy U.S. Marshals.
Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 7,751 arrests (Updated as of 07/25/2019). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
