Mark Your Calendars: Department of Energy Tribal Summit May 4-5

The following press release was published by the U.S. Dept. of Energy, Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs on April 27, 2011. It is reproduced in full below.

Next week, on May 4th and 5th, the Department of Energy will host a Tribal Summit in Arlington, Virginia. It'll be an opportunity for tribal leaders, Department of Energy leadership, organizations and other constituents to discuss how to best collaborate on important energy and environmental issues.

To attend the Summit, we encourage you to register by May 1.

If you can't make it in person, watch it live online on May 5th. You can also send questions to tribalsummitquestions@hq.doe.gov in advance or during the event, and we'll do our best to get them answered during the Summit. The agenda for both days is available on our website.

This event is a continuation of the Obama Administration’s collaboration with tribes, tribal organizations and tribal energy resource organizations to increase economic opportunities through clean energy initiatives.

Indian energy development will play a vital role in our nation’s energy future and I look forward to talking to many of you at the Summit and in the future.
