March 7 PSERC Webinar: Real-time Synchrophasor Analytics: Data Quality Monitoring and Anomaly Detection

The following press release was published by the U.S. Dept. of Energy, Office of Electricity on March 1, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

The DOE-funded Power Systems Engineering Research Center (PSERC) is offering a free public webinar that will present a real-time data-driven approach for monitoring and mitigating potential data quality issues. This proposed approach is able to identify bad data during both normal and fault-on conditions. The webinar will also explore the dimensionality reduction of real-world synchrophasor data.

The webinar will be lead by Le Xie, an Associate Professor in Texas A&M University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Dr. Xie's industry experience includes ISO-New England and Edison Mission Energy Marketing and Trading. He has received numerous awards, including the U.S. National Science Foundation CAREER Award, the Oak Ridge Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award. Dr. Xie is an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, and is the founding chair of IEEE Power and Energy Society Subcommittee on Big Data & Analytics for Grid Operations.

The webinar will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017, from 2-3 p.m. ET. No pre-registration is necessary.

For more information and details on logging into the webinar, please see the (PDF), or visit PSERC's website.
