WEST VALLEY, N.Y. - EM and its cleanup contractor at the West Valley Demonstration Project partnered with the local volunteer fire company to conduct fire safety training for West Valley School District middle school students. “In the event of an emergency, you always fall back to what you know," said Kevin Murray, CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley emergency preparedness manager and volunteer firefighter. “Now these students have training that they can fall back on. They will be better prepared to deal with an emergency situation. In the end, training is all about learning, practicing, and applying." Held as part of National Fire Prevention Week, the hands-on training allowed the students to use a fire extinguisher training simulator, as shown here.
