Census Business Builder Version 4.0 Now Available

Census Business Builder Version 4.0 Now Available

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of Census Bureau on Nov. 1, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

The latest version of Census Business Builder (CBB) is now available with significant updates to the Small Business Edition (SBE) and the Regional Analyst Edition (RAE).

Both the SBE and RAE have a new feature that allows data users to compare geographic areas and create rankings based on the data. Another new function: a worksheet was added to the Excel version of the data download file that includes all the source information for the data in the download.

Existing CBB functions were updated, too. Among the updates:

* The industry cluster feature added to the SBE in 3.4 was added to the RAE and updated to make it easier for data users to edit the initial industry selected.

* The ability to view the impact of a filter dynamically without applying the filter was restored from version 3.3.

* Metro area-level data was added to the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages and updated to include the 2020 fourth quarter.

* Quarterly Workforce Indicator data were updated to second quarter 2020.

* 2020 Building Permit data were updated to data year 2020.

* 2020 International Trade data were updated to data year 2020.

* Consumer Spending data were updated to projected estimates for 2021.

To learn more about the full scope of updates to the CBB and about projected estimates, visit the CBB homepage and explore both the SBE and RAE versions.
