Thank you, Chair.
As we have stated previously, the United States does not agree with the definition of a collective “right to peace,” as human rights are universal and are held and exercised by individuals. We do not support efforts that would in any way modify or stifle the exercise of existing human rights.
Because this resolution improperly frames existing human rights, we call a vote and will vote against this resolution. We encourage other countries to vote against it as well.
