The most recent notice, Notice of Availability of the Finding of No Significant Impact/Record of Decision for the Final Environmental Assessment and Final General Conformity Determination for the Proposed Terminal Area Plan and Air Traffic Procedures at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, was submitted on November 25, 2022.
The Transportation Department published 22 the week before, marking a 31.8 percent decrease.
The Department handles nearly all infrastructure crisscrossing the country. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the Department should be privatized to save money, reduce congestion and spur innovation.
Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.
Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
