TSA Pre✓® temporary application center open for one week at the Eastern Iowa Airport

The following local press release was published by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration on Nov. 8, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will open a temporary application center for one week at the Eastern Iowa Airport (CID), where individuals can apply for TSA Pre✓®.

The application center will be open Monday, Nov. 13 - Friday, Nov. 17. The hours Monday- Thursday are 8 a.m. - noon and 1 - 5 p.m. The hours Friday are 8 a.m. - noon. The application center is located in the airport’s Donald D. Swanson Executive Conference Room, located across from baggage claim. A complimentary parking voucher will be provided for those coming to the airport for this application event. Passengers do not have to purchase an airline ticket to access the application center.

Travelers who are enrolled in TSA Pre✓® or another trusted traveler program such as Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Global Entry, SENTRI or NEXUS are permitted to keep on their shoes, belts and light outerwear jacket, and can leave their laptops and liquid 3-1-1 bags inside their carry-on bags when transiting the checkpoint. To find the program that best suits your travel needs, use the DHS trusted traveler comparison tool.

The TSA Pre✓® application process allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to go through a pre-enrollment process online and then visit an application center to provide biographic information (e.g. name, date of birth, address, etc.), fingerprints and valid required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation. Although pre-enrollment online is recommended, walk-ins also are accepted. There is a nonrefundable application fee of $85 for a five-year membership. Approved applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) that can be used when making airline reservations.

Interested individuals can begin the application process online by visiting the Universal Enroll website and selecting “Apply Now" in the TSA Pre✓® section of the webpage.

CID’s TSA Pre✓® lane opened earlier this year. Five airlines that serve CID - Allegiant, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines - all participate in TSA Pre✓®.
