14-Year-Old Wanted for Homicide Arrested by U.S. Marshals

Scranton, PA - Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced that the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Blair Dawn Hart, 31 years old, of Scranton.

In January 2018, Scranton Police responded to an incident at Nichols Pizza on Washington Avenue. The responding officer found that a woman had been struck in the face with a bottle and her cellphone was stolen, however the perpetrator had fled. The investigation identified Blair Dawn Hart as the suspect and a warrant was issued charging her with aggravated assault, simple assault and robbery. The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force was requested to assist in apprehending her.

This morning, members of the NY/NJ Fugitive Task Force arrested Hart at a residence in East Orange, NJ. Hart will be held at the Essex County Jail while awaiting extradition by the Scranton Police Department.

United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “We are committed to ensuring violent offenders are brought to justice and it is my sincere belief that doing so makes our communities safer."

The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies - including the Scranton Police Department, which works with the USMS every day.
