House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) released the following statement on today’s bipartisan, bicameral Appropriations Committee meeting:
“I appreciated the opportunity to welcome the other corners for an opening conversation on enacting an omnibus bill to keep the government open in December.
“The House and Senate majorities have both put forward appropriations bills, and our proposals meet the needs of the American people while protecting our national security.
“A full-year CR is an empty threat that undercuts both parties’ priorities by depriving families, businesses, and communities of the certainty they need and making our country less safe.
“I am ready to review a proposal from our Republican counterparts. They need to come to the table so we can keep a December process on track."
