House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) today launched a new calendar on Twitter tracking Congressional Republicans’ refusal to engage in bicameral, bipartisan appropriations negotiations.
“Democrats have done our work and we are ready to negotiate critical funding for the American people. But since our November 2 meeting, Republicans have refused to negotiate or even present an offer of their own," Chair DeLauro said. “Americans need to know about this obstruction and its harmful effects on working families, small businesses, veterans, and our military, and that’s exactly what the Appropriations Committee’s new calendar does."
The Appropriations Committee will update the calendar daily until Republicans honor their responsibility and come to the table with constructive proposals to meet the needs of the American people.
