U.S. Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield met today with President Faustin-Archange Touadera of the Central African Republic and welcomed him to the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit.
Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield underscored the United States’ enduring humanitarian and development assistance to the people of the Central African Republic, as well as the international community’s commitment to supporting MINUSCA’s efforts to stabilize the country.
The Ambassador also raised concerns about the role of Wagner forces in the country, and emphasized the importance of transparent governance and respect for the rule of law.
