National Park Service purchases 198 acres in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) from Conservancy

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Jan. 11. It is reproduced in full below.

The hike along the Highland Route stretches the spine on the South Snake range from Pyramid Peak to Decathon Canyon, 14.6 miles one way with extreme elevation changes through out the hike. This route be started in the Highland Ridge Wilderness BLM area to the south of the park or can be started from Baker Lake.

This route requires wayfinding skills and equipment, including map, compass, GPS and the skills and knowledge to use the equipment.

No pets are permitted on this route.
