Chairwoman Foxx Renews Oversight Inquiries

Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement after she sent letters renewing congressional inquiries she began in the 117th Congress to federal agency heads under the Committee’s jurisdiction:

“Federal agencies have an unfortunate habit of discarding congressional inquiries each time a new Congress begins. Not to worry, I saved copies. Agency heads can check their inboxes for my updated letters seeking answers on behalf of the American people.

“Congress has a responsibility to deliver accountability and transparency to the American people and, in this Congress, they will get it in spades. I sent 139 oversight letters to the agencies under the Committee’s jurisdiction in the 117th Congress, and I plan to continue my oversight efforts on Americans’ behalf during the 118th.

“Under the Biden administration, federal agencies were empowered to conduct illegal and sometimes dangerous activity such as targeting parents or promoting brazen union activism. In the majority, House Republicans will not allow this administration to weaponize agencies against the people they are meant to serve.”
