The most recent notice, Texas Eastern Transmission, LP; Notice To Prepare an Environmental Assessment and Revised Schedule for Environmental Review of The Appalachia to Market II and Entriken HP Replacement Project, was submitted on February 3, 2023.
The Energy Department published 35 the week before, marking an 11.4 percent increase.
The Department oversees energy policies and is involved in how the US handles nuclear programs. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the Department's misguided energy regulations have caused large losses to consumers for decades.
Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.
Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
