FSIS will participate in the Partnership for Food Safety Educations Consumer Food Safety Education Conference taking place in Arlington, Va., from March 1-3. FSIS will share presentations on food safety and host an exhibit booth with food safety publications and resources. On March 1, FSIS is also sponsoring a pre-conference workshop from 2-5 p.m. ET, Don't Eat the Pseudoscience: Navigating Misinformation and Disinformation on Social Media." The workshop will be facilitated by Nicole Arnold, Assistant Professor and Food Safety Field Specialist with the Ohio State University.

Reminder: FSIS to Host Webinars on Expansion of Generic Label Approval Final Rule

As announced last week, FSIS will host webinars to discuss the January 2023final rule. The webinars will highlight the changes to the categories of labels that will require approval by FSIS, as well as the new categories of labels that will be generically approved once the rule becomes effective on March 20, 2023.

The webinars will be held on the following dates:

* March 1, 2023, 1-2:15 p.m. ET

* March 7, 2023, 1-2:15 p.m. ET

* March 15, 2023, 1-2:15 p.m. ET

The webinars will be held on Microsoft Teams. Pre-registration for the webinars is not required. To access the labeling webinars, please visit theevents & meetings page on the FSIS website. Presentation slides and recordings of the webinars, including the one that took place on Feb. 23, 2023, will be posted on the FSIS website for those unable to attend.
