The home of Harry S Truman's aunt, uncle, and cousins. Harry Truman stayed here frequently during his weekends away from the farm. He was close with his cousins Ethel and Nellie Noland who lived here. One day in 1910, his Aunt Ella Truman asked someone to return a cake plate to the Wallaces and Harry Truman jumped at the offer. He grabbed the cake plate and ran across the street to deliver it. He rang the bell and Bess answered. It took him two hours to return the plate. They spent the time talking and catching up with each other. This began their 9 year courtship.
