Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with President and CEO of World Vision U.S. (WVUS), Edgar Sandoval Sr., to discuss their efforts to advance a more inclusive development model, including through increased partnerships with local organizations. Administrator Power highlighted USAID’s current efforts to strengthen local partner capacity and discussed ways WVUS can align with USAID’s strategic vision.
Mr. Sandoval and Administrator Power also discussed how USAID is partnering with WVUS to respond to multiple, ongoing humanitarian crises, the challenges of meeting the needs of earthquake victims in Northwest Syria, and supporting principled assistance in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s edict banning women from working for NGOs that provide critical humanitarian aid to the Afghan people.
