USDA Recognizes Singapore as Free of Foot and Mouth Disease

The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) determined following a thorough review that Singapore is free of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), a serious disease of livestock. During its review, APHIS also noted that the surveillance, prevention and control measures Singapore uses minimize the chance of FMD entering the United States.
