Dear Stakeholder,APHIS Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) is excited to expand your permitting options starting today, June 25, 2021, in APHIS eFile to include plant and plant products that are not for propagation or planting. The new application is a simple and easy way to apply for and receive permits. Some permits may even be issued within the same day!Why should I use it?
Apply Today!Go to APHIS eFile at efile.aphis.usda.gov/s/. In the ‘Ready to Apply’ section, select the PPQ 587 application to start your application.Effective today, PPQ will no longer issue permits from ePermits for plant and plant products that are not for propagation or planting. For a period, you will still need to use ePermits to apply for other PPQ Form 587 permits (e.g., plants for planting). In the future, all PPQ Form 587 permit requests will be available in APHIS eFile. Please note that if you have an existing permit issued by ePermits, you will not be able to renew that permit in APHIS eFile. Instead, you will need to reapply for a new permit in APHIS eFile.APHIS eFile is an online system that supports select APHIS regulatory activities, including permitting, registrations, and licenses.
