A San Francisco-based company that designs cloud-based software for businesses has announced a new conversational artificial intelligence experience.
Salesforce, which owns Slack, announced the new Slack GPT (generative pre-trained transformer) that will enable the use of “generative AI app integrations, different language models and the power to tap into secure customer data insights from the Customer 360 and Data Cloud,” according to a May 4 news release.
“Generative AI has enormous potential to redefine how work is done and unlock significant business productivity,” Slack CEO Lidiane Jones said in the release. “The real power of this technology is when AI can analyze and act on the most valuable data from a company’s most trusted resource — its own internal knowledge. Slack GPT is the conversational AI platform of the future, helping organizations easily tap into their trusted customer data and essential employee knowledge so they can work smarter and make smarter decisions faster.”
Simple adjustments can have a significant influence on a company's carbon footprint and bottom line, the release reported. Salesforce's MuleSoft was able to cut its annual spending on public cloud infrastructure by 14% by identifying and retiring unused systems and switching storage to more energy-efficient options.
Slack will integrate new native AI into the user experience to help users work more intelligently, learn more quickly and communicate better, according to the release. For instance, writing assistance and discussion summaries powered by AI will be accessible right in Slack with just a click.
The new AI-ready platform from Slack Customers will be able to create no-code workflows that incorporate AI actions with straightforward prompts at each step using the recently launched Slack platform, making it simple for anybody to deploy AI automation, the release reported. They can also utilize the LLM of their choosing or safely integrate an LLM from businesses like OpenAI and Anthropic.
This includes the ones supported by the generative AI fund of Salesforce Ventures, as well as any future Salesforce-exclusive LLMs, according to the release.
