U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo recently presented the 2023 Presidential Awards for Export Achievements.
Raimondo honored 24 companies and organizations with the President's "E" and "E Star" Awards for their exceptional contributions to expanding U.S. businesses in international markets, according to a June 6 news release. The recipients, ranging from manufacturers and distributors to entities aiding small and medium-sized businesses, were recognized for their success and economic growth, benefiting American workers and local economies.
“The award recipients being honored today have seen tremendous success in international markets and generated substantial economic growth here at home that benefits American workers, families and local economies," Raimondo said in the release. "I am excited to recognize these businesses as prime examples of America’s global private-sector leadership."
The President's "E" Award, established in 1961, is the highest recognition for U.S. entities that significantly contribute to U.S. exports, the release reported. This year, 11 companies received the "E" Award for Exports, acknowledging their sustained increase in export sales over a four-year period. Notable recipients included Advanced Cooling Technologies, AQMC and BG Products, among others.
Additionally, four companies received the "E" Award for Export Service, commended for their assistance and facilitation of export activities, the release said.
The "E Star" Award for Exports was granted to seven companies that previously received the "E" Award and reported four years of continued export growth, the release reported. Two entities were honored with the "E Star" Award for Export Service, recognizing their ongoing support of exporters since their initial "E" Award win.
Nominations for the highly esteemed "E" Awards are submitted through the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service office network, providing companies and organizations an opportunity to showcase their accomplishments in international trade, the release said. This recognition not only celebrates their achievements but also highlights the critical role played by private-sector businesses in driving the United States' economic growth and global leadership.
