The American Institute of CPAs® (AICPA®) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants® (CIMA®), functioning as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, announced their strategic partnership with Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The signed MOU intends to promote collaboration in education, professional development, certifications, academic exchanges and research in China's finance and accounting sectors.
In a recent press release issued by AICPA on November 27th, the signed MOU from November 23rd in Shanghai enables the association to collaborate with SAIF on multiple fronts. Their joint efforts will focus on fostering high-level talents within finance and accounting relevant to the digital age, thereby catering to the evolving talent needs in China.
AICPA has recognized SAIF for its exceptional teaching quality and international collaborations. Part of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, SAIF provides both degree and non-degree programs in finance along with hosting a dedicated research center called the China Academy of Financial Research. SAIF has also engaged in partnerships outside China offering global study experiences while organizing academic conferences centered around finance.
Representatives present during the signing of MOU were Vicky Li, FCMA, CGMA; North Asia's regional president for AICPA & CIMA; and Prof. Cheng Shijun, who is an executive dean and professor at SAIF.
Representing members across 188 countries and territories worldwide, the association serves as a platform for over 698 thousand members according to information available on AICPA's website.
