Chairman Behnam Announces Agenda for April 11 Agricultural Advisory Committee Meeting in Overland Park, KS

Washington, D.C. — Chairman Rostin Behnam, sponsor of the Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC), today provided further insight on planned discussion topics for the upcoming AAC meeting. The public meeting will be held on April 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (CDT) at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel in Overland Park, KS. Members of the public will also have the option to attend virtually.

“Ongoing climate and geo-political issues affecting our nation’s farmers and ranchers underscore the importance of access to capital as well as tools for hedging, financing, and managing their risk,” said Chairman Behnam. “The AAC’s upcoming meeting will explore two critical topics—agricultural lending and the growth of options in agricultural markets—that support the needs of the agricultural community.”

The meeting agenda may change to accommodate other AAC priorities. For agenda updates and more information about this advisory committee, including its members, visit AAC.

There are five active Advisory Committees overseen by the CFTC. They were created to provide advice and recommendations to the Commission on a variety of regulatory and market issues that affect the integrity and competitiveness of U.S. markets. These committees facilitate communication between the Commission and market participants, other regulators, and academics.

"The views, opinions, and information expressed by the Advisory Committees are solely those of the respective Advisory Committee and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Commission, its staff, or the U.S. government."
