U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo has announced the roster of global executives, business leaders, and senior U.S. government representatives who will participate in the 2024 SelectUSA Investment Summit. The event is scheduled to take place from June 23-26 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
Among the notable speakers and attendees at this year's SelectUSA Investment Summit are U.S. governors, U.S. Chiefs of Mission, and C-suite executives from both U.S. and international companies.
“The SelectUSA Investment Summit is the premier event when it comes to foreign direct investment in the United States, highlighting everything America has to offer,” said Secretary Raimondo. “The Department of Commerce’s SelectUSA program has proven to be a key component in the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to attract investments across the country, especially in critical sectors such as semiconductors and clean energy."
SelectUSA achieved a new milestone earlier this year by facilitating more than $200 billion in client-verified foreign direct investment (FDI), supporting over 200,000 jobs throughout the United States and its territories since its inception in 2011. Furthermore, for the twelfth consecutive year, Kearney’s Global Business Policy Council’s 2024 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Confidence Index ranked the United States as the top destination for FDI.
Several U.S. governors will participate in the summit, including Mayor Muriel Bowser of the District of Columbia.
The Investment Summit will host speakers from global businesses. It serves as a platform for foreign investors to announce their expansion plans in the United States and for economic development organizations (EDOs) to highlight new investments in their localities.
Last year's SelectUSA Investment Summit attracted more than 4,900 participants including EDOs representing over 50 U.S. states and territories, more than 2,300 business investors from over 80 international markets, and industry experts who provided insights on successful investment in the United States. The SelectUSA Investment Summit has directly helped generate more than $110 billion in new U.S. investment projects, supporting over 85,000 jobs across the United States and its territories.
