The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) is celebrating the historic progress of President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and its significant impact on America's transportation systems. As part of this celebration, the USDOT has released a new fact sheet and video featuring Secretary Pete Buttigieg, which marks the continuation of the country's Infrastructure Decade.
Since the law's implementation, over 50,000 transportation construction projects have been initiated with funding from the infrastructure law. Remarkably, 10,000 construction projects have already been completed. These projects encompass a wide range of infrastructural improvements including repairing aging bridges, enhancing road safety, upgrading ports for increased efficiency, modernizing airport terminals, and expanding public transit and passenger rail services.
Collectively, these initiatives are bolstering the American economy by strengthening supply chains and reducing costs. This in turn improves America’s global competitiveness while creating well-paying jobs and unlocking economic opportunities for communities of all sizes - including rural and Tribal communities.
