The following statement is attributed to Gary Shapiro, CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), regarding today’s White House event to secure a post-quantum cryptography future. Announcements included a report on international cooperation in quantum computing technology and post-quantum cryptographic standards from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at a meeting with government and industry leaders, including CTA members:

These efforts, including announcements from CTA member companies like Google and IBM, reinforce the value of public-private partnerships to protect the security and privacy of individuals, organizations, and nations in a quantum future.

“Quantum computing isn’t just a technological leap—it’s the foundation for tomorrow’s breakthroughs. We will continue working with policymakers to help advance this vital technology. In addition to our advocacy and standards work, CTA is also proud to partner with Quantum World Congress on quantum computing conference programming at CES 2025.”
