From gamescom’s Opening Night Live in Cologne, Germany, fans received their first look at "Squid Game: Unleashed" and "Monument Valley 3," both set to debut exclusively on Netflix later this year. Additionally, "Monument Valley" and "Monument Valley 2" will soon be available on the platform, making Netflix the exclusive home for the entire Monument Valley collection. These games, like all Netflix Games, are included with memberships without ads or in-app purchases.
"Squid Game: Unleashed," developed by Boss Fight, a Netflix Game Studio, is a 32-player party royale game featuring challenges from the Emmy award-winning series. Players can team up with friends, face off against enemies, and navigate deadly obstacles to claim rewards through daily missions and themed events inspired by the Squid Game universe. Updates will be shared via @squidunleashed on Twitter/X.
Netflix also announced that "Squid Game Season 2" will premiere on December 26, 2024, with a third and final season expected in 2025. The franchise continues to expand with "Squid Game: The Experience" and the reality series "Squid Game: The Challenge," which is currently in production for its second season.
Bill Jackson, Head of Creative at Boss Fight, stated: "Making games based on hit series and films is one of the most exciting opportunities we have at Netflix. We're thrilled to offer fans a new way to experience the Squid Game universe — one that combines the show's pulse-pounding action with the immersive thrill of gameplay."
The acclaimed franchise Monument Valley returns after nearly a decade with "Monument Valley 3," arriving December 10. Jennifer Estaris, Game Director of Monument Valley 3 said: “Monument Valley is a title that has pushed boundaries of what is possible in games... Our goal is to bring our biggest Monument Valley yet to as many people as possible.”
More details about these games will be revealed during Geeked Week starting September 16.
