Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning has called on Congress to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government through December 20, 2024.

“AIA urges Congress to pass a continuing resolution, free of extraneous legislation, to keep key agencies of the U.S. government funded and open. Without a continuing resolution, the innovation and development necessary to protect national security and maintain functionality of air travel will be halted, causing serious disruptions,” Fanning said. “Although AIA has continually urged full-year, regular appropriations, we understand a stopgap bill is required to clear a final path forward for the 2025 fiscal year. We encourage both the House and the Senate to swiftly pass this continuing resolution and keep the government open.”

AIA has routinely called for full-year, regular appropriations legislation. Earlier this year, Fanning sent a letter to congressional leaders urging them to avoid a government shutdown.
