This year, the Combined Space Operations (CSpO) Initiative marked a decade of collaboration aimed at leading as responsible space actors.
The CSpO Initiative enhances cooperation and coordination of national security space activities. It now includes ten partners: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
"Space is integral to our shared prosperity and security," stated the initiative. "Space systems and services require assured access to, and freedom to operate in space."
The statement also highlighted concerns about the risks to space security and stability. "We are committed to ensuring the lawful and sustainable use of space, and the prevention of conflict."
Over the years, CSpO has focused on collaborative efforts to address rapidly evolving challenges and opportunities. The initiative aims to deliver resilient, agile, secure, and interoperable capabilities.
"The United States of America," as noted by one partner in the initiative's statement, "looks forward to continued cooperation to demonstrate responsible behaviors and the promotion of a secure, stable, and safe space domain."
