Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo held a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Secretary Raimondo is currently in Italy to attend the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Industry and Technological Innovation, which is taking place in Rome.

During their discussion, Secretary Raimondo acknowledged Italy's leadership during its tenure as the host of the G7. The conversation focused on collaborative efforts through the G7 to enhance a resilient global semiconductor ecosystem and to fortify commercial and investment relations between the United States and Italy.

"Secretary Raimondo expressed appreciation for Italy’s strong leadership during their G7 host year," according to a readout from the meeting.

The discussions are part of broader international efforts to address technological advancements and economic cooperation among member nations.
