Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Tel Aviv to address regional tensions. According to Spokesperson Matthew Miller, they discussed efforts to de-escalate conflicts and promote a diplomatic resolution along the Blue Line, which would enable civilians on both sides of the border to return home.
Blinken reaffirmed "the United States’ ironclad commitment to Israel’s security." Additionally, they addressed the need for sustained humanitarian aid to Gaza and emphasized ending the war in a manner that ensures the release of hostages and fosters broader regional stability.
