Despite media narratives suggesting otherwise, violent crime rates in the United States are reportedly on the rise. A new documentary released by The Heritage Foundation aims to shed light on the reasons behind the increasing crime rates in many American cities. The film attributes these issues to what it describes as "pro-criminal, anti-victim, police-hating radical agendas" of certain district attorneys.
The 16-minute documentary presents its case by compiling video evidence from activists advocating for defunding the police and abolishing prisons. It also examines the impact of lenient policies on communities.
The film includes testimonies from victims affected by policies implemented by Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon, former Baltimore District Attorney Marilyn Mosby, Oakland District Attorney Pamela Price, among others. Additionally, Sacramento District Attorney Thien Ho and San Diego District Attorney Summer Stephen discuss their perspectives on public safety and criticize what they see as failed efforts by rogue prosecutors.
Charles “Cully” Stimson, a senior legal fellow at Heritage’s Edwin Meese III Center and co-narrator of the documentary, stated: “This documentary tells the full story, through the mouths of the radicals who support the movement, the real prosecutors who protect victims, and victims whose lives were destroyed by the worst social experiment ever unleashed on civil society.”
