U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry seized over $205,000 in narcotics during a recent enforcement action. The seizure took place on October 25 at the Camino Real International Bridge when officers conducted a secondary inspection of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado.

Port Director Pete Beattie from the Eagle Pass Port of Entry commented on the operation, stating, “This significant seizure is directly attributable to the continued vigilance and alertness our CBP officers put forth on a daily basis.”

During the inspection, CBP officers used canine units and non-intrusive technology to discover packages containing 22.31 pounds of methamphetamine hidden within a cooler liner. The street value of these narcotics was estimated at $205,152.64.

Following this discovery, CBP confiscated both the narcotics and the vehicle involved. Homeland Security Investigations special agents have started a criminal investigation into the matter.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency emphasizes its role as America's frontline defense with over 65,000 personnel dedicated to protecting national security across land, air, and sea domains while facilitating lawful travel and trade.
