Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents participated in the annual Red Ribbon Week by visiting schools in the area throughout October. The event, held from October 23 to 31, featured this year's theme, "Life is A Movie, Film Drug Free." Students engaged with agents through presentations that paid tribute to fallen DEA Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena.

The activities included reciting the traditional Drug Free Pledge: “I pledge to grow up safe, healthy and drug free by understanding the dangers of drug use and abuse, respecting myself and being drug free, spreading the word to family and friends about the importance of being healthy and drug free.”

Red Ribbon Week stands as the nation's largest and longest-running program focused on drug awareness and prevention. It aims to increase awareness about alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and violence prevention while promoting a unified commitment toward a drug-free America.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), America's largest law enforcement organization with over 65,000 personnel, underscores its role as America's frontline. CBP facilitates lawful travel and trade while ensuring economic prosperity and enhancing national security through innovation and collaboration.
