Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken engaged in a conversation with Kenyan President William Ruto on November 7. The call was to express gratitude for Kenya's ongoing leadership in the Multinational Security Support mission to Haiti, aimed at restoring peace and security in the region.

The conversation also covered efforts regarding Sudan. Both parties discussed coordinating actions to enhance humanitarian access, halt ongoing conflicts, and establish a framework for restoring civilian governance.
Secretary Blinken highlighted the necessity for continuous engagement with the Kenyan public, especially following protests from June to August. He stressed the importance of accountability for security forces allegedly involved in protest-related violence and abductions.
Finally, Secretary Blinken reaffirmed the strong ties between the United States and Kenya, reiterating support for Kenya's inclusive and democratic future.
