U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry have intercepted over $399,000 worth of cocaine in a recent enforcement action. This operation underscores CBP's commitment to border security and community safety.

Port Director Pete Beattie stated, "Our frontline CBP officers successfully utilized their training, experience and high tech tools to detect and interdict this significant quantity of cocaine in the passenger vehicle environment." He added that such seizures are a testament to CBP’s ongoing efforts to maintain border security.

The incident occurred on November 4 at the Camino Real International Bridge. A 2015 Chevy, driven by a 41-year-old female Mexican citizen, was flagged for secondary inspection. Officers used a non-intrusive inspection system during the examination and discovered 12 packages containing approximately 29.93 pounds of alleged cocaine inside the vehicle. The narcotics were valued at $399,740.

The narcotics and vehicle have been seized by CBP. Homeland Security Investigations special agents arrested the driver and have launched a criminal investigation.
