David Ditch, a senior policy analyst at The Heritage Foundation's Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget, has expressed support for the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This new department is part of an initiative by the Trump-Vance Transition Team and will be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. Its primary focus will be on reducing government bureaucracy, cutting excessive regulations, and eliminating wasteful spending.

Ditch stated: “The behemoth of our nation's federal bureaucracy has cost taxpayers nearly $36 trillion in gross debt, or about $275,000 for every household. The Uniparty has stood by as this insurmountable debt has grown and driven record inflation, while they have failed to take meaningful action."

He further added that the creation of DOGE "is a welcome and long-overdue step toward addressing government waste and restoring fiscal discipline to the federal budget." He praised President-elect Trump's decision to appoint "two political outsiders with exceptional business expertise," referring to Musk and Ramaswamy. According to Ditch, their leadership will bring attention to necessary structural reforms and enhance efficiency and accountability in federal spending and regulations.

Ditch concluded his statement with optimism about ending what he described as "the days of the swamp drowning Americans in reckless deficits and endless red tape."
