Ashley Ranslow calls on Governor Hochul to veto costly healthcare bills

New York State Director Ashley Ranslow has voiced concerns about the increasing cost of healthcare in New York. In an op-ed published in Empire Report, co-authored with Chelsea Lemon of The Business Council, Ranslow criticized Albany lawmakers for adding to the financial burdens on businesses. "It should be a nonstarter for Albany lawmakers to continue adding to the already steep cost burdens placed on New York businesses," she stated. Ranslow urged Governor Hochul to veto bills that could increase healthcare expenses, emphasizing the need for solutions that control costs and improve affordability.

In addition to her op-ed, NFIB ran an advertisement in City and State Magazine addressing the issue of frequent pay lawsuits. This highlights ongoing efforts by NFIB to advocate for business-friendly policies.

Ranslow's influence was recognized as she was named among City & State’s 2024 list of influential leaders in New York. She is acknowledged as a leading advocate for small businesses, representing over 11,000 small and independent enterprises across the state. Her recent achievements include advocating for the repeal of COVID-19 sick leave measures and making strides against retail theft. Additionally, Ranslow is working on issues such as workers’ compensation reform, reducing insurance fraud, restoring unemployment insurance fund solvency, and regulatory reform.
