The U.S. Department of State has announced that Abby Finkenauer, the Special Envoy for Global Youth Issues, will travel to Switzerland from November 19-22. The purpose of her visit is to emphasize the significance of youth leadership and motivate future changemakers.

In Bern, Finkenauer plans to engage with Swiss youth parliaments, youth leaders, and the U.S. Embassy Youth Council. This council is part of a Department of State initiative aimed at connecting young leaders to encourage civic engagement and tackle issues like disinformation.

Finkenauer's itinerary also includes a visit to Pepperdine University’s Hauteville campus in Blonay-Saint-Légier. There, she will meet undergraduate students, including those participating in the Global Fellows Program, to discuss topics related to leadership and sustainability.

Moreover, she will interact with students from local secondary schools and universities to gather their insights on innovation, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. Updates on her trip can be followed on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook.
