U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced the launch of Global Entry Enrollment on Departure at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This initiative, available from November 18, 2024, through January 3, 2025, is open to conditionally approved Global Entry applicants traveling through or departing ATL International Airport.
The program allows travelers to complete their enrollment process without scheduling an appointment at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. Previously, applicants could either schedule an appointment or complete their interview through Enrollment on Arrival at select U.S. airports. The new Enrollment on Departure option offers convenience for those departing from ATL Airport.
John Quintana, CBP Area Port Director for Atlanta, stated: “CBP is excited to partner with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to offer Global Entry Enrollment on Departure interviews.” He emphasized the benefits for those seeking to complete their membership in this trusted traveler program.
The service will be located near the E Concourse information booth at the main food court area and available Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Applicants must arrive early enough to finish their interview before departure.
Applicants need a valid passport or travel document and proof of address for residency confirmation, though this is not required for minors.
Global Entry expedites clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. Members use touchless portals or CBP’s mobile application upon arrival. Last year, over 14.8 million travelers utilized these services. The program boasts over 12.7 million members and operates at 77 U.S. airports and 14 CBP Preclearance locations.
In the previous year, CBP processed a record 3.8 million applications for trusted traveler programs.
