Jeffrey J. Dinise has been appointed as the new Chief Patrol Agent of the U.S. Border Patrol's Miami Sector. He began his duties on November 17, 2024.
Previously, Chief Dinise served as Deputy Chief of Law Enforcement Operations at USBP Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he managed border security operations for 20 sectors across the country. His career spans 22 years with roles in leadership positions along various borders including southwest, northern, and coastal areas. He has also acted as Chief Patrol Agent in the Detroit and Havre Sectors and was Deputy Chief Patrol Agent in Spokane Sector. He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from American Military University and completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Naval Postgraduate School's Center for Homeland Security and Defense.
In his new role, Chief Dinise oversees operations in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina within the Miami Sector. This sector includes six Border Patrol Stations across Florida covering over 1,200 miles of coastal border.
