On November 21, 2024, Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Ms. Amanda Dory, met with Albania's Minister of Defense, Mr. Pirro Vengu, at the Pentagon. The meeting was announced by Pentagon Spokesman Lt. Col. Charlie Dietz.
During their discussion, both leaders addressed the progress in the U.S.-Albania bilateral defense relationship and explored opportunities for Albania to develop and enhance its military capabilities. They also shared perspectives on the security situation in the Western Balkans and emphasized the region's significance for Euro-Atlantic security.
Additionally, they highlighted the need for improved defense industrial efforts, including those through NATO.
