Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Amanda Dory met with Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan Nagashima Akihisa at the Pentagon. The meeting focused on discussing regional security challenges and modernizing the U.S.-Japan Alliance.
According to Pentagon spokesperson Maj. Pete Nguyen, both officials emphasized bilateral progress in areas such as command and control, presence in Japan's Southwest Islands, defense technology and industry cooperation, and multilateral engagement.
Dory and Nagashima expressed a shared commitment to strengthening the U.S.-Japan Alliance amid an evolving security landscape.
