The U.S. Department of State has announced that Kane Brown, a multi-Platinum-selling American country music artist, continued his role as a U.S. Global Music Ambassador during a recent visit to Perth, Australia. During this visit, he engaged with young Western Australians on the sidelines of his "In the Air" headline tour.
As part of his ambassadorial duties, Brown met with local teenagers aged 14 to 19 through a collaboration between the U.S. Consulate Perth and two local non-profit organizations: the Clontarf Foundation and Foyer Oxford. In these meetings, Brown shared his career journey and discussed how music helped him overcome challenges in his childhood. The event underscored the strong cultural ties between the United States and Australia, illustrating how American country music can inspire and connect communities.
The role of U.S. Global Music Ambassadors is central to the State Department-YouTube Global Music Partnership, which was announced by Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken and Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music at Google and YouTube, earlier this year. This initiative aims to use music as a tool for promoting peace worldwide by bringing people together across different cultures.
