Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced that the president has made nominations for two positions in the Air Force.
Air Force Major General Mark B. Pye has been nominated for promotion to lieutenant general. He is set to become the commander of the Air Force Nuclear Systems Center. Pye currently holds the position of director, Programs, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans and Programs at the Headquarters of the U.S. Air Force located in the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Additionally, Air Force Colonel Matthew C. Brown has been nominated for promotion to brigadier general. Brown is presently serving as deputy director at the Joint Staff of the Indiana National Guard in Indianapolis, Indiana.
