U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, alongside Japanese Ambassador to the United States Shigeo Yamada, held a press briefing to discuss the USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. During this event, they unveiled one of the pavilion's exhibit spaces, known as the Innovation Realm, and introduced Spark, the official mascot for the USA Pavilion.
Spark is designed to embody the "spark of imagination and creativity," with its character design drawing inspiration from American themes combined with a sense of endless possibility. This animated mascot will guide visitors through various "imagination realms" that highlight aspects of American culture, creativity, and opportunity. A video featuring Spark is available on the World Expo USA Pavilion YouTube channel.
The United States has partnered with BRC Imagination Arts to create engaging exhibit spaces that emphasize U.S. creativity and ingenuity in areas such as exchanges, travel, innovation, and space exploration. The Innovation Realm will feature groundbreaking ideas in agriculture technologies, nanotechnology, advanced materials science, and industrial design. Visitors will gain insight into how the U.S. is developing solutions to address global challenges like adaptive food technology systems and pioneering medical breakthroughs.
Expo 2025 Osaka is set to open on April 13, 2025, anticipating millions of visitors over six months. These World Expos serve as platforms for showcasing American commerce and culture while collaborating with international partners on shared global issues.
