Woman sentenced for role in meth trafficking conspiracy

Stacey Bentley, a 53-year-old resident of Blacksburg, South Carolina, has been sentenced to over three years in federal prison. Bentley pleaded guilty to charges related to her involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy.

The court was presented with evidence indicating that Bentley attempted to retrieve a package containing three kilograms of methamphetamine from a U.S. Post Office in April 2023. This act was part of the broader drug trafficking conspiracy.

United States District Judge Jacquelyn D. Austin handed down the sentence, which includes 40 months of imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release. Additionally, Bentley is required to forfeit $400,000.

The investigation into this case involved multiple agencies: Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, and the Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit. The prosecution is being led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jamie Schoen.
