Tahlequah man pleads guilty to child sexual exploitation charge

A resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Anthony James Deason, has pleaded guilty to a charge related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma confirmed that Deason, aged 29, admitted guilt to one count of Attempted Receipt of Certain Material Involving the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

According to the indictment, Deason attempted to involve a minor in sexually explicit conduct with the intention of producing and transmitting visual depictions across state lines via the internet.

The case was investigated by both the Tahlequah Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations. U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted Deason's plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Following this acceptance, Judge Jackson ordered a presentence investigation report and remanded Deason into custody under the United States Marshals Service until sentencing.
