A Norfolk man has been sentenced to 10 years and 11 months in prison for drug and firearm offenses. Tramaine Waldell Riddick, aged 42, was convicted of distributing para-fluorofentanyl and possessing a firearm to further a drug trafficking crime.

Court documents reveal that on December 28, 2023, Riddick sold heroin and an AK47 rifle with ammunition from his residence. This transaction was part of a controlled purchase by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Chesapeake Police Department (CPD).

Further controlled purchases in January and February showed Riddick selling over 57 grams of suspected heroin, six firearms, including one stolen weapon, and ammunition. He also sold a machinegun conversion device. Tests confirmed the substances as heroin, para-fluorofentanyl, fentanyl, and xylazine. Riddick was found responsible for distributing or intending to distribute 79 grams of fentanyl and 179 grams of cocaine.

On April 9, 2024, law enforcement searched Riddick's home again and found four more firearms with ammunition.

The sentencing announcement was made by Jessica D. Aber, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Anthony A. Spotswood from ATF's Washington Field Division; Mark G. Solesky from Chesapeake Police; and Ramin Fatehi from Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney Office after Senior U.S. District Judge John A. Gibney Jr.'s ruling.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Graham M. Stolle prosecuted the case.
